The GlenDronach 12 years old (D.2007, B.2019) PX Sherry Cask # 6769 / 60,9%/ –
Glendronach Distillery was built in 1826 by James Allardes, the son of local landowner. William Teacher & Sons acquired the distillery in 1960 and soon doubled its production capacity. Glendronach malt played big role in Teacher’s brand; in the 1970s it was one of the top five single malts sold globally as well. Unfortunately, the future owners (Allied Distillers and Chivas Bros.) neglected the brand to certain extent and finally the distillery acquisition by BenRiach Distillery Company in 2008 put it back on the map. GlenDronach 2007 Vintage presented here was bottled in October 2018 for “Professional Danish Retailers”. The whisky was aged in “finest Pedro Ximénez sherry casks” for 11 years. Only 3000 bottles were produced.
