Green Spot Château Montelena / 46%/ –
Green Spot Château Montelena is the second release of “Wine Geese” series following the 2015 launch of Château Léoville Barton. “Wine Geese” refers to Irishmen passionate about wine, who left their homeland in pursuit of a passion, which could be fulfilled only outside of Ireland. Jim Barrett left Ireland for Boston in the mid 20th Century and eventually landed in Napa Valley, California. In the 1970s he acquired struggling Château Montelena winery and in a matter of time restored it to its former glory. Green Spot Château Montelena was aged for 7 to 10 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks then finished for additional 12 months in French oak Zinfandel casks sourced from Château Montelena.
