New scotch for tasting in Warsaw
Clynelish 14 years old, Flora & Fauna / 43% – A classic expression of Clynelish, part of the original Flora & Fauna series, in 2002 replaced by the standard 14 years old and now almost impossible to find. The label on the bottle depicts a wildcat; the woods surrounding the distillery are home to thousands of these animals. Wildcat is also a feature of Clan Sutherland crest (the original Clynelish Distillery was founded by the Duke of Sutherland). Clynelish is one of the mostly sought after bottlings from Flora & Fauna series.
Nose: smooth, slightly malty, sea breeze, seaweed, vanilla, oak, hints of walnuts and bees’ wax.
Palate: nicely balanced, breakfast cereals, vanilla, apples, lemon zest, hints of salt and pepper and delicate oaky dryness.
Finish: remarkably fresh, vanilla and fruity sweetness wrapped in sea breeze.
