New rare whisky for tasting in Warsaw

Glenfarclas 1959 Historic Reserve Nº4 / 40% – Glenfarclas Distillery (the name translates from the Gaelic to ‘valley of the green grass’) was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and since 1865 has been owned by the Grant Family. The Grants have been famous for extensive use of sherry wood for whisky aging and wide selection of Vintage expressions, with some of them, such as Historic Reserve released on June 24, 2002 being truly unique. Glenfarclas Historic Reserve includes four editions, each dedicated to one of the four leading members of the Grant family, whose portrait adorns the label. The label of Historic Reserve Nº4 features George S. Grant, the fourth generation and Chairman for 52 years, who passed away in 2002. Glenfarclas Historic Reserve comprises whisky from four ex-sherry hogsheads (no. 3232-3235) filled on Christmas Day, December 25, 1959 with the each edition outrun of 240 bottles. According to the distillery note, “the dark amber whisky has complex aroma with a hint of fine Oloroso Sherry; it is elegant, dark single malt, aromas of exotic fruits and vanilla, with a delicate not dominating touch of oak”.
