Glenglassaugh Revival / 46% / – Glenglassaugh Distillery remained closed between 1986 and 2008. The 1980s were very bad times for the Scotch whisky industry struggling with overcapacity and lack of customers’ demand. In 2008 the Scaent Group acquired the distillery for £ 5 million. Revival released four years later was the first expression of “new” Glenglassaugh comprising whiskies matured in ex-red wine and ex-bourbon casks and re-racked for additional maturation in ex-sherry casks.
