OC
Octomore 5 years old, Edition :12.2 Super Heavily Peated (129.7 ppm) /57,3%/In the early fall of 2021 Bruichladdich Distillery launched the 12th series of their super heavily peated Octomore brand. The release included three 5 years old whiskies, of which Edition 12.2 followed the footsteps of Octomore 4.2 (Comus), one of the most sought Octomores released to date. Octomore 12.2 was distilled in 2015 from the 2014 harvest of 100% Scottish grown Concerto barley, malted to phenol specification of 129.7ppm. The whisky spent three and a half years in American oak casks (50% of which first fill), then in 2019 after vatting was completed the whisky was transferred into first fill ex-Sauternes casks for additional 18 months. Octomore 12.2 was bottled at 57.3% abv (this time Bruichladdich did not reveal the number of bottles produced).
