Lagavulin 16 years old Distillers Edition (D.2003 B.2019) /43%/ – In 1988 United Distillers (predecessor to Diageo) launched Classic Malts series, which included six most representative Scottish single malts from six regions. Surely, the contenders were the distilleries owned at that time by UD. Ten years later a Distillers Edition followed up; it featured the same six single malts but finished in various types of wood. Lagavulin, the most popular expression of the original series, after spending 16 years in traditional oak barrels was transferred into ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for additional several months. The 2003 Vintage was part of the 2019 Distillers Edition release.
