The GlenDronach Revival 15 years old, Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured /46%/ – In 2009, several months after BenRiach Distillery Company took over GlenDronach Distillery, the new core range was launched and that included 12 years old Original, 15 years old Revival and 18 years old Allardice. The name Revival commemorates the re-opening of the distillery in 2008. The whisky aged exclusively in ex-Oloroso sherry casks immediately scored Silver Medal at the 2009 Malt Maniacs Awards. Revival was temporarily discontinued in 2015 due to insufficient stock. It supposed to be back in 2018.
Nose: rich, concentrated sherry notes, dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla, orange zest, fig jam, prunes, traces of pine resin and nutmeg.
Palate: strong sherry statement, raisins, prunes, dried apricots, figs, chocolate coffee, hints of oak and spice.
Finish: medium long, dried fruit, caramel and sherried oak.
