Glenfarclas 2001 Heritage (Bottled 2011), Sherry Cask / 45% / – Glenfarclas Distillery was built in 1836 on Rechlerich Farm, close to the small town of Ballindalloch and since 1865 has been owned by the Grant family. Glenfarclas annual sales crossed 800 000 bottles mark and the brand enjoys enormous loyalty among whisky drinkers. The Heritage edition is a tribute to six generations of Grants, their whisky making skills and accomplishments. The 2001 Vintage, part of Heritage series, comprises whisky aged in ex-sherry casks. It was bottled for the French market in 2011.

Nose: soft, slightly grassy and malty, apples, pears, raisins, vanilla, honey, oak shavings and hints of peat.

Palate: fruity and spicy, apples, plums, breakfast cereals, raisins, milk chocolate, traces of pepper and ginger.

Finish: medium long, orchard fruits, vanilla, pepper and oak.
