Glengoyne Legacy Series Chapter One / 48% / – In the early 2019 Glengoyne Distillery launched a new series called ‘The Legacy’ (first in almost two years) to celebrate its heritage, history and people. The initial release, Chapter One, pays homage to Cochrane Cartwright, 19th Century distillery manager who introduced the “slow distillation” process to increase the “sweet and fruity flavors of the spirit”. It was also Cochrane’s decision to use sherry cask for maturation. Both methods have been used to date. The Legacy Series Chapter One comprises whisky aged in first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks as well as Glengoyne’s refill casks and bottled without chill-filtration at 48% abv.
