New scotch for tasting in Jastrzębia Góra

BenRiach 2005, 12 years old, Peated/Port Cask (Cask #2679) / 53,1%/In August 2017 BenRiach Distillery revealed details of their newest batch of single cask selection. Comparing to previous batches, batch # 14 comprises relatively young whiskies, 9 to 12 years old, all distilled within three years, shortly after the distillery was taken over by Billy Walker and his partners in 2004. The casks (total of seven) were selected by Rachel Barrie, Mr. Walker replacement, who worked for Bowmore and Glenmorangie in the past. Her selection includes Oloroso sherry butts, port pipes, virgin oak cask and Marsala hogshead. The 12 years old whisky presented here was distilled from peated barley on February 16, 2005 and aged in port pipe # 2679. Bottled at natural strength of 53.1% abv with an outrun of 713 bottles.
