Bowmore 1971, 18 years old, Bottled for Sestante /40%/ –
Sestante is the most respected name among whisky connoisseurs and collectors. The company was founded in the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi, who bottled his first single cask under the name in 1985. In 2000 Mainardi founded his second bottling company Silver Seal. In 2010 both companies were acquired by Massimo Righi, proprietor of Whisky Antique. The original Sestante bottlings are cherished by collectors and very seldom offered for sale. Bowmore 1971 presented here is certainly one of these bottlings. The whisky was bottled in 1989, after 18 years of aging.
