New scotch for tasting on Nowy Świat in Warsaw
Glen Garioch 17 years old, The Renaissance (3rd Chapter) / 50,8% – The Renaissance range showcases Glen Garioch’s new hose style following its reawakening in 1997 after two years long period of closure. Until 1994 Glen Garioch used moderately peated malt with phenols’ content of 8-10ppm. The practice was abandoned with the distillery re-opening in 1997 with the fruitiness coming to the forefront of the new house style. The Renaissance Collecton was introduced in 2014 with the objective to follow the progress of the distillery style while maturation process progresses. Here we have 3rd Chapter from 2017 comprising whisky aged for a minimum of 17 years in the combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. The fourth and final chapter supposed to be released the following year.
Nose: malty and fruity, pears, oranges, honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, toasted bead, ginger, pepper, hint of forest floor and some oak in the background.
