Bunnahabhain Mòine 2007 #SignatoryVintage (Bottled 2017) SFTC / 56,7% / – Mòine, a peated expression of Bunnahabhain whisky, was introduced in 2004. It was a limited edition released for the annual Fèis Ìle (The Festival of Music and Malt). Bunnahabhain Distillery produces roughly 200,000 liters of peated whisky each year but almost entire output goes into Black Bottle blend. Bunnahabhain Mòine presented here, part of Signatory Vintage ‘Straight from the Cask’ range, was distilled on January 24, 2007, aged in hogshead no. 140. Bottled at natural strength of 56.7% abv on September 6, 2017 exclusively for La Maison du Whisky with an outrun of 360 bottles.
Nose: fresh, smoky and coastal, seaweed, sea breeze, smoked oysters, malted barley, lemon peel, green apples, dash of vanilla and oak shavings.
Palate: peat smoke, seaweed salad, breakfast cereals, lemon peel, grapefruits, lemon grass, touch of pine needles, hints of vanilla and pepper.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of peat smoke, lemons, limes, grapefruits, white pepper and oak
