Jack Daniel’s 150th Anniversary of the Distillery / 43% / – In 2016 Jack Daniel’s Distillery celebrated its 150th Anniversary. To be more specific, we should say 150th Anniversary of the Lynchburg distillery registration, since 1866 is the year that the original Call & Call Distillery was registered, not the year of initial distillation. Brown-Forman, the brand owner, announced 2016 as a year of special events and releases. According to Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel’s master distiller, “for this 150th Anniversary whisky our coopers slow-toasted the barrels to bring out the rich flavors and aromas of the wood, creating a contemporary expression of an 1866 char”. In the year of celebration the distillery expected 300 000 visitors, 10%more than in 2015.
